“Our mission is to impact impoverished emerging and developing nations by empowering teachers with educational resources that enhance their ability to teach and instills in students a lifelong desire to learn.”

A New Direction

Sep 10 2018

In September of 2018 we began a new direction in our project. We were invited by the District Education Minister (DEM) of the Chimutu District to begin the process of reaching his entire district with both distribution of the PAL to the schools in the Chimutu District and training the teachers. There are 9 zones in this District and we were able to reach 2 of the zones with training and distribution in September. These two zones consisted of 17 schools, 687 teachers and over 41,000 students. This is a ratio of 1 teacher to 60 students. In our communication with the teachers they confirmed that the ratio is much higher in the first and second grade, averaging over 100 to 1. Only six of these schools had electricity which is available in the Headmaster’s office, not in each class room. Twelve of the 17 schools have no electricity at all and three of them have no water what so ever. Once we have reached this entire district we will move to another district for training and distribution.

In spite of the overwhelming hard job these teachers have, we learned that many of them had been teaching for 20 years or more. They are a dedicated group of heroes. It was a privilege to help them with some new ideas and new materials to assist them as they strive to make a difference in their nation.
